One piece of advice I always give job seekers is to make sure they have a complete LinkedIn profile with recommendations and a picture. I suggest that they connect to as many co-workers, ex-coworkers, and friends as possible. Presenting yourself in a professional manner on social media sites will help in landing a new role. Employers and recruiters are using LinkedIn to source potential candidates almost as much (if not more) as they may use job boards, networking and referrals.
